Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program Pre-Approval Assistance - Nova Scotia:
You may be eligible to receive an upfront payment of up to $15,000 to switch from oil heating to a new, energy-efficient ducted air source or ductless mini-split heat pump if:
- You are a Canadian homeowner
- Your home must be primarily oil-heated, consuming at least 500 litres in the past 12 months (Proof of oil purchases is required).
- Your household income is at or below the median household after-tax income
Income Limits for the Moderate Income Rebate:
- 1 person: $37,260
- 2 people: $77,050
- 3 people: $98,900
- 4 people: $120,750
- 5+ people: $126,500
To determine if your household income qualifies, you need to calculate your "after-tax income" by subtracting the "Total Taxes Payable" (line 43500) from your "Net Income" (line 23600) on your Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment.
This calculation should be done for each household member over the age of 18, and the results should be combined, according to Efficiency Nova Scotia.
